Design Process

Our design packages can range from advising clients on best ways to solve technology issues to creating detailed design plans that can be used to procure system equipment for installation of systems.

We Support

We can also support by performing the installation of the systems we design. As a state of California C-7 Low Voltage Systems Contractor we are licensed to sell and install audiovisual and video teleconferencing systems in the state.

Our Process

The diagram on this page depicts the process that we use when doing a system design. Some elements can be uncomplicated or complex depending upon our clients needs. In our process we typically will meet with the principal of the organization that has come to us for assistance.

we will deliver

Based on an idea of what the customer has in mind we usually perform a site survey of the facility or area which might be affected. During the site survey, we will typically discuss the conceptual system with various stakeholders in the client organization. From this information we will develop a Functional Requirements Document (FRD) and present for approval by the client. Once the FRD is approved the system engineering is begun. The completion of this effort will result in the development of a detailed bill of materials (BOM) for the project. If the task that we have been given by the client has been to develop an installation plan for another organization to install, we will deliver the installation plan and BOM to client.

If we have been engaged to perform the installation

then we will use the BOM to procure the required project equipment. In this event we will also begin system programming (if required), install the hardware as it arrives, complete system assembly and conduct system testing. At this point the system is handed over to the client for acceptance. In closing out a project we typically generate final installation drawings (as built drawings), summarize the test results with baseline performance parameters and provide training to client staff if necessary.
